Principal Planner - Historic Neighborhoods

7.55 days per week8:00 am4:30 pm

The Town of Hilton Head Island has an exciting opportunity in their Community Planning Division.  We are seeking a Principal Planner – Historic Neighborhoods to perform advanced planning, analytical, and team leadership tasks related to the administration of the Town’s Land Management Ordinance and implementation of the Comprehensive Plan, with a focus on historic neighborhoods planning. This position will administer programs that preserve the Island’s historic neighborhoods and advance efforts to improve service delivery to these areas. 

A successful candidate will have proven ability to build and manage relationships to implement goals and programming and have the following minimum qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Planning, Public Administration, or related field; and
  • Five (5) years experience in planning, community outreach programming, or related experience; or
  • Any combination of experience and training which provides the equivalent scope of knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work;
  • Valid Driver’s License.

This position is exempt (not eligible for overtime) with a salary range of $79,232 - $107,965.  The salary offered will be commensurate with the selected candidate’s experience and qualifications.
