Work hours are 9:30 A.M.to 6:00 P.M. Job Summary: Qualifications: Education: High school graduate or equivalent. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within six (6) months of start date. Training: Three months. Keeps all mandatory Education current. Experience: One plus years of hospital based clinical or scheduling experience. Job Knowledge: Knowledge skills and abilities acquired in one year of customer service in scheduling, reception, basic medical terminology preferred. Excellent organization and prioritization skills. High attention to detail. Excellent communication skills. Proficient in the use of computers and electronic mail. Ability to work in a fast-paced department.
Performance Requirements: Responsibility For: Researches and validates specific physician privileges. Schedules procedures in appropriate rooms. Sets the final schedule and distributing to the Operating Room, Ambulatory Care Unit and Oncology Unit daily. Maintaining the schedule logs for all areas; Operating Room, Ambulatory Care Unit, Endoscopy, Oncology Unit. Documents physicians’ specific requests and maintains complete and accurate information. Maintains system integrity and confidentiality of data. Notifies Director Surgical Services of scheduling conflicts or noncompliance with policy. Corrects or modifies discrepancies in scheduling. The ability to work effectively and cooperatively with others to achieve the Harrisburg Medical Center’s mission. The ability to maintain patient confidentiality. Avoids Gossip. Communicate messages and information in a timely manner. Sets the Surgical Services schedule board up for the next workday. Assist with office management responsibilities as directed. Physical Demands: Normal daily activities require minimal lifting (10-25 lbs.). Majority of day consists of walking and sitting. Assists in the transportation of patients as required. Visual, auditory, communication acuity needed. | ||||||||
