Job Summary:
Routine and project cleaning of patient rooms, wash rooms, offices, Nursing stations, utility rooms treatment rooms, etc.

Qualifications:

Education:
High school education or equivalent.

Experience:
None required.

Training:
Two weeks.

Job Knowledge:

After training, must be able to demonstrate the correct use of housekeeping procedures, chemicals, supplies and equipment.
Knowledge of healthcare environment re: infection control and safety (patient and employee).

Responsibility For:

Perform cleaning functions in assigned areas following established schedules and using prescribed methods without direct supervision.

Physical Demands:

Extensive walking and standing. Lifting light to medium (10 to 50lbs.) weights. Able to bend, stoop. Able to see and hear with or without corrective aids (eyeglasses or hearing aids).

Special Demands:

Ability to do repetitive work, cooperate with others and show initiative, judgment, mental alertness. Works without direct supervision. Handles hazardous waste and needles.
